Multimedia Control Control the playback of your music and video. Compatibility: iPhone 4S and later/4/3GS, iPad 2/1, iPod Touch 4G/3G/2G, MacBook Pro/Air, Mac Mini, and all other Bluetooth enabled Apple products, Android, Windows Remote Camera Shutter Take photos without leaving yourself out and eliminate any camera instability. Compatibility: iPhone 4S and later/4/3GS, iPad 2, iPod Touch 4G, MacBook Pro/Air. Note: Functions only in the Camera App Siri Activation The remote’s Home button can be used to activate Siri. Compatibility: iPhone 4S and later Button Layout Orient the remote so that the buttons are face up and pointed away from you. Near the top of the remote, you will find a square pad with a button in the middle. Press the left side of the square for previous track, or hold down to rewind. Press the right side of the square to go to the next track, or hold down for fast forward. Note that not all apps will support rwind and fast forward. press the top of the square to increase volume, or take a picture in the camera app. Press the bottom of the square to decrease volume. Press the button in the center of the square to play/pause. Below the square are three buttons. From left to right, they are show/hide on-screen keyboard, Home, and Mute. Below this is a panel of buttons that is normally covered. Slide the panel down to reveal two rows of buttons. These are primarily used for pairing. The top row of 6 buttons has 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and pair. The second row has 6, 7, 8, 9, 0, and Enter. On the left side of the unit is the power switch. Slide it up to turn the remote on and down to turn it off. The battery compartment is on the bottom half of the back side of the remote. Hardware - iPhone - iPad - iPod Touch Operating System - MacOSX v10.4 or later -iOS Battery Insert the 2 CR2025 batteries into the battery compartment of the remote before usage. Ensure that the positive and negative terminals of the batteries and compartment are matched. The rounded side of the battery will face toward the remote. Bluetooth Pairing: iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch 1. Turn the power switch to the ON position by sliding it toward the top of the remote. 2. Slide the bottom piece down to reveal two rows of buttons. Press the Connect button which will be the the far right button on the top row. - The LED light will blink green indicating it is in pairing mode. 3. In your Apple device, go to Settings > General > Bluetooth and ensure that Bluetooth is on. 4. Select “Bluetooth Media Control & Camera Shutter Click” from the Devices list. 5. Your Apple device will display a message with a PIN code - enter this code on the remote’s keypad and press Enter. The numbers 1 through 5 are on the top row with 6 through 10 on the bottom row. The enter key is in the bottom right. 6. If pairing is successful, your Apple device will display “Connected” on the Bluetooth devices list. Bluetooth Pairing: Android 1. Turn the power switch to the ON position by sliding it toward the top of the remote. 2. Slide the bottom piece down to reveal two rows of buttons. Press the Connect button which will be the the far right button on the top row. - The LED light will blink green indicating it is in pairing mode. 3. In your Android device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and ensure that Bluetooth is on. 4. Select “Bluetooth Media Control & Camera Shutter Click” from the Devices list. ON some devices, you will need to press the Scan button first to search for devices. 5. Your Android device will display a message with a PIN code - enter this code on the remote’s keypad and press Enter. The numbers 1 through 5 are on the top row with 6 through 10 on the bottom row. The enter key is in the bottom right. 6. If pairing is successful, your Android device will display “Connected” on the Bluetooth devices list. Bluetooth Pairing: Mac 1. Access your Mac's Bluetooth settings by clicking the Bluetooth icon on the desktop or in the system bar. Select “Turn Bluetooth On” to activate the Bluetooth function. 2. Scroll down the list and select “Set up Bluetooth Device...” 3. The Bluetooth Setup Assistant will begin - follow the on-screen instructions. 4. Press the Connect button on the remote to put it into pairing mode. Select “Bluetooth Media Control & Camera Shutter Click” from the list and click continue to proceed with setup. 5. Your Mac will generate a passkey - enter these numbers on the remote and press the Enter button. 6. Your BT MediaRemote is ready to be used. Keyboard Screen On your Apple device, the BT MediaRemote may be recognized as an independent keyboard causing the normal Apple keyboard screen to not appear. If this is the case, press the Keyboard button on the remote to activate the keyboard screen. Once the remote is powered off, the keyboard screen will automatically appear on your device. Camera Shutter Remote Click The volume up button on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch equipped with iOS 5.0 or later functions as the camera shutter when using the camera app: the volume up button on the remote can trigger the same function as well.
