USB Sound Card Getting Started Introduction This guide will describe the button layout and use of the plug-and-play USB sound card. This card is compatible with Windows computers running Windows 98SE or later as well as MacOS 10 and Linux. Device Description The USB sound card is a tiny device about the size of a flash drive. For the following description, place the device so that the USB port is facing you and the buttons are facing up. On the end closest to you is a large, wide button with a dot in the middle. This is the mute button. Above this button are two smaller controls. The first increases the volume while the second decreases it. On the back, you will find two small jacks. The one on the right side is for an external microphone while the one on the left is a speaker out jack. There is no built-in speaker or microphone on the card. Installation This may be the shortest installation chapter you will ever read. Simply plug the device into your computer. The appropriate software will be loaded and your card should be ready for use. You can verify this by going into your Windows Control Panel or another program where you can select an audio device and looking for a new entry, usually called C-Media USB Audio Device. A note about the Controls The button controls on the device actually simulate key presses on your keyboard. So the mute and volume controls will effect your current default audio device. You can change your default audio device in Windows from the Control Panel. Warranty We offer a 90-day warranty against manufacturer defects. This does not include physical damage or misuse of the product. Please contact us for more information. Questions If you have any questions, please E-Mail support@atguys.com or call (269) 216-4798.
